Twelve-year-old Sasha is forced to leave Moscow for Pyatigorsk to live with his aunt while his doctor parents are on assignment in Africa. Local children, school bullying, and conflict with the leader, Marat, become part of his new life. When his parents disappear during a flood, the boy faces utter despair. All her life, Vera has been unsuccessfully searching for her father, who disappeared in the noughties. Already desperate to find at least some clues, Vera stumbles upon the trail of her dad in one of the next robberies and finds out the terrible details of his biography. Fascinated by the investigation, she does not suspect that at this time the hunt began for her.
