In a bustling Mexican household, seven-year-old Sol is swept up in a whirlwind of preparations for the birthday party for her father, Tona, led by her mother, aunts, and other relatives. As the day goes on, building to an event both anticipated and dreaded, Sol begins to understand the gravity of the celebration this year and watches as her family does the same.
Socorro is a lawyer obsessed with finding the soldier who killed her brother during the 1968 Tlatelolco massacre. When she receives a crucial clue about the soldier’s whereabouts fifty years after her brother’s death, Socorro embarks on a reckless mission for revenge.
Vivi is a young writer who is forced to find a roommate to pay the mortgage on her apartment. What she does not suspect is that Roy, the supposed perfect partner she found, has a peculiar lifestyle: he never pays rent.
