After his family was brutally murdered by French settlers on his wedding day, an Algerian man joins the French army and is sent to Vietnam to fight in the First Indochina War.

Long quest for a director specializing in commissioned films, who after a depression rediscovers his loved ones, his Casbah district, himself.
