Biography
Gerardo was born and raised in Guadalajara, Jalisco, in 1999. He is an independent filmmaker who graduated from the Universidad de Medios Audiovisuales CAAV from Guadalajara, where he directed and wrote his first short film Fragmentos de mi Vida (2023), selected at festivals such as FICTEQ (2024), FICCMA (2023), ELIPSIS (2024), and No Somos de Cristal (2024). He has worked on different projects as a colorist, production assistant, data manager, and sound designer. He has produced two short films: Gamboa (2025) dir. Emiliano Alcaraz premiered at FICG 40 and Mariposa Negra (post-production) dir. Daniel Alejandro Rivera Ortiz.

What are you willing to do to get back those you love? Gamboa, a young man who has been a drug dealer for a long time, is determined to leave that life behind and win back his family’s trust. After settling his debt with his boss, he tries to negotiate his way out. But his boss won’t let him go so easily. One last job stands in his way, forcing him to risk his conscience in exchange for a chance at freedom.
