WN Naufal is a filmmaker from Kulon Progo who has been actively contributing to Indonesian cinema. Known as a dedicated advocate for local filmmaking, he continues to create despite the challenges faced by the national film industry. His passion for bringing regional stories to life has made him a significant figure in independent cinema in Kulon Progo. Naufal served as the director of Laku Wirasa, a film produced by Cine Club Kulon Progo in collaboration with the Kulon Progo Department of Culture. The film explores social issues, particularly the struggle for water access in rural areas and the spirit of solidarity among villagers. With a strong directorial style that builds tension and emotion, Naufal masterfully portrays deep social conflicts and humanitarian values. Through his works, WN Naufal continues to enrich Indonesian cinema, bringing authentic stories from Kulon Progo to the screen.
