Biography

Alexa Jane Jerrett is an emerging Canadian filmmaker and owner of Bedlamer Pictures Inc. She is the 2024 winner of the prestigious RBC SJIWFF Michelle Jackson award, alumna of NIFCO's Picture Start 61 Program, and 2018 graduate of FAMUs (Czechia) Writing & Directing Fiction Program. In 2023, Alexa won the Arts & Letters Awards Senior Dramatic Script Division with an original folk horror script and went on to direct and co-produce the ambitious, multi-award-winning short film, Bedlamer. Alexa is a member of the Directors Guild of Canada, WIFT-AT, 2024 AIFF Filmmaker Lab, and an alumna of the Spring 2025 WIDC Career Advancement Module.
