Late summer. The sun is sinking lower and lower, the last beach umbrellas have already disappeared from the beach, and people are casually heading back to the city. Gośka and Janek are hanging out at the Kier TV studio. The interview with the lead singer of Scarabeo is supposed to be just another routine job. They don’t yet know that something will seriously throw a wrench in their plans that day. And quite by accident, they’ll step into a world of childhood fears and monsters under the bed.

Mira, a 60 year-old woman, appears to have a normal life. One morning she starts her day like any other, wakes up early, puts her family's clothes out to dry, purchases food for her fish and commits a bank robbery with a kitchen knife. She discovers her need for money is surpassed only by her need for love.

Two friends, cab driver Lala and stewardess Vera, dream of going to America. However, each of them has a different idea of how to make this dream come true. Lala, believing that the "american dream" is a state of mind, decides to attend a casting call for a movie with superstar Jack Monday. Thus begins her journey in search of herself and her place on earth.
