To be born and to grow up on an island like Sardinia, it almost feels like to live inside of a Diorama: a small, picturesque surrounding that can only give you an impression of reality. Seen through the eyes of a person who left and told by the voices of the young people that are still there, Diorama is an analysis on belonging to a place that feels abandoned and hostile towards the people that inhabit an island that has so much to offer, but at the same time nothing to give.

In a small town in the south of Italy, a new mayor has cancelled an ancient recurrence. Tommaso, a bizarre man worried by the disastrous consequences that this decision could bring, tried to change his mind.

On a quiet late-summer day, Alessandro and Flavio set out in search of the last secrets of their city. Sitting on the branch of a large cherry tree, they wait for the night. A beer with friends, mopeds heading home, and a farewell.

It is the first time that Luca visits his girlfriend, Martina, in her new city. The lack of harmony in daily gestures and words reveals to them how much the relationship is changing, and that it won't be easy to keep their love alive.
