Biography
Marco Panatonic (Chumbivilcas, Cuzco, Peru) is a Peruvian filmmaker. He directed the short films Cuando ya no estemos aquí (2016) and Q'ellucha (2017). He was involved in La final (2014), directed by César Venero and Heroínas (2022), directed by Marina Herrera. He was part of the co-production Fiebre (2022), directed by Elisa Eliash. Panatonic's first feature film Kinra (2023), premiered at the Mar del Plata International Film Festival.
Known For

Nino is a spoiled child who, immersed by a strong fever, is absorbed by a mysterious painting. Even though his mother had warned him, the trick that made him fall prey of the painting is unleashed. And so, Nino does nothing but get lost in a maze of images trying to return home.
Fever

Almost 250 years ago, an Indigenous noblewoman named Tomasa Ttito Condemayta gathered together over a thousand women to fight against the Spanish colonial rulers. In present-day Peru, female followers of all ages bring gifts to her resting place where they dance and celebrate together to draw strength and courage or request protection and good grades. A mockumentary in tribute of this special heroine.
Heroines

Atoqcha travels between his home in the mountains where his mother lives and the city of Cusco, looking for a place to live and work, seeking a future as a civil engineering student. Along his journey, he will find a friend who will welcome him like family. However, he cannot forget his mother or his sister, who is also searching for her own path, or the land where he grew up. Going back is his way, despite starting anew, because his heart will always be divided, just like his country.
