Biography
Camila Grimaldi (she/her) is an Argentinean-American filmmaker based in Brooklyn. She produces under her banner Ser Nocturna, a production company she co-founded with her fellow Latinx producing partner Arielle Friedman. She has produced short films that have screened at Sundance, SXSW, Woodstock Film Festival, and Raindance, among others, and produced music videos for Atlantic Records, Universal Music Group, and Mischief Management. She is a Film Independent Producing Lab fellow. As a director, Camila focuses on characters and relationships with bite. Her latest short film, Breadwinner, screened at festivals including HollyShorts, New York Latino Film Festival, Bushwick Film Festival, and Middlebury New Filmmakers Festival. She has directed music videos for artists James the Seventh, Raia Was, and Janani K. Jha. She has several projects in development, including a feature based on Breadwinner —a horror film about a blood-thirsty sourdough starter.
