Loosely based around the myth of Perceval, the film brings to life a short selection from the much larger and sprawling narrative of Fucked Up's latest 4-part concept album Year of the Horse. Blanche, the story's protagonist, experiences an awakening to the world around her while her mother, Kaye, continues to live in fear of it.

Annie retreats to a lakeside cabin left to her by estranged family, where childhood summers once intertwined with her friend Shaun’s. In the silence of the northern wilderness, generational grief and a myth older than memory begin to take form. As the cyclical return of the Finnish demon Lempo nears, Annie must choose between self-sacrifice and defiance.
