A girl dreams of becoming a diver all her life. But just before the finish, she begins to have doubts. When should dreams remain whishful thinking, when should they become reality?

16-year-old Niklas is schizophrenic and has trouble distinguishing between reality and dreams. After he failed the 10th grade, his last summer holidays begin. Instead of using the time for parties and girls, Niklas withdraws. But then he meets Lotta and seems to be able to overcome his illness. Everything is going well at the beginning until he makes a serious mistake.

The silver wedding is a gratifying highlight. Most of the time, the home and garden are fully furnished, the children out of the house and a steady job until retirement. In his speech in front of the assembled family, Günther also thanks for the past years of marriage. But suddenly his mood changes and the celebrations get out of hand...
