The superstars of World Wrestling Entertainment's "SmackDown" brand collide each and every Friday on WWE Friday Night SmackDown.

The American professional wrestling promotion WWE has been broadcasting PPV events since the 1980s, when its classic "Big Four" events (Royal Rumble, WrestleMania, SummerSlam, and Survivor Series) were first established with the company's very first PPV being WrestleMania in 1985. The company's PPV lineup expanded to a monthly basis in the mid-1990s following the introduction of the In Your House series of pay-per views before expanding even further in the mid-2000s during the first WWE brand extension. Following WWE's original brand extension in 2002, the company promoted two touring rosters, Raw and SmackDown, representing its television programs, Raw and SmackDown. The traditional "Big Four" continued to showcase the entire roster, while the remaining PPV events alternated between Raw and SmackDown cards. In March 2007, WWE announced that all subsequent PPV events would feature performers from all brands. In 2008, all WWE PPV events began broadcasting in high-definition.

Promociones Antonio Peña, S.A. de C.V. d/b/a Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (commonly referred to as simply AAA, pronounced "triple A" – an abbreviation of its original name Asistencia, Asesoría y Administración de Espectáculos,  'Attendance, Advisory, and Administration of Spectacles') is a Mexican Lucha Libre (professional wrestling) promotion based in Mexico City, Mexico. It was founded in 1992, when Antonio Peña broke away from Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) to set up his own promotion to have more creative freedom. On April 19, 2025 it was announced that AAA had been acquired by WWE.

The Road to WrestleMania begins at Royal Rumble, and the top Superstars in WWE are set to compete for a championship bout at WrestleMania. The matches will begin with two superstars in the ring. At equally timed intervals, a new superstar enters the fray. Elimination only occurs when a superstar has gone over the top rope and both feet have touched the floor. This continues until there is just one superstar left standing as the winner of the Royal Rumble Match. Also, AJ Styles will put his incredible career on the line against Gunther and Drew McIntyre will defend his WWE championship against Sami Zayn.

The first match was Flammer's open challenge for the AAA Reina de Reinas Championship, which was answered by Bayley from WWE's Raw brand. The Rey de Reyes tournament final featuring "The Original" El Grande Americano, El Grande Americano, La Parka, and Santos Escobar followed. Next, Domink Mysterio defended the AAA Mega Championship against El Hijo Del Vikingo in a Lucha de Apuestas No Disqualification match.

On April 16th Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide presents Triplemania XXXI Monterrey live on FITE straight from Estadio de Béisbol Monterrey in Mexico. The event features the AAA Mega Championship where Hijo del Vikingo defends his title against Komander against Rich Swan against Shane Strickland.

Halloween Havoc 2025 was a professional wrestling event produced by WWE for its NXT brand, held on October 25, 2025, at the Findlay Toyota Center in Prescott Valley, Arizona, and headlined by Ricky Saints (c) vs. Trick Williams for the NXT Championship.
