In seven different parts, Godard, Ivens, Klein, Lelouch, Marker, Resnais, and Varda show their sympathy for the North-Vietnamese army during the Vietnam War.
The film documents Ho Chi Minh's life with unique film material. It is not a portrait of a private man, but a documentation of the theory and practice that Ho Chi Minh developed and which led to the construction of socialism in North Vietnam. General Giap and Prime Minister Pham Van Dong are also interviewed.
