Canada Russia '72 is a 2006 Canadian documentary-style miniseries about the 1972 Summit Series. The two-part miniseries was directed by T. W. Peacocke and written by Barrie Dunn and Malcolm MacRury. Canada Russia '72 first aired on consecutive nights on CBC between April 9 and 10, 2006.

A docudrama loosely based on real events. In 1972, an 8 game ice hockey series is arranged where Canadian pro stars of the National Hockey League play the the Soviet Union national team. Tho most Canadian fans were convinced that the Soviets would be no match for the pros, what followed was a bitter struggle as Team Canada faught to win a series that would change Canadian hockey's history forever.

This game 8 broadcast came to Canada live via satellite. The signal was converted in Moscow to the European broadcast system, traveled to Helsinki and then to London, England, where it was converted to the North American pattern, and then to Mill Village Nova Scotia.
