Following the death of half of the global population by a virus, a scientist has introduced a new form of life: the Mnemonix.

While visiting his dad for the weekend, Sam discovers that his grandfather was a touring vaudeville performer. Acting out, because his dad is too busy to notice, Sam steals his dad's camera and, together with his friends, makes a film in an effort to gain his dad's attention.

A young girl suffering from memory lapses in a psychiatric hospital begins to suspect that the gargoyle outside of her window has taken on a life of its own.
