19 year old Irena Gut is promoted to housekeeper in the home of a highly respected Nazi officer in Poland when she finds out that the Jewish ghetto is about to be liquidated. Determined to help twelve Jewish workers, she decides to shelter them in the safest place she can think of – the basement of the German Major's house. Over the next eight months, Irena uses her wit, humour and immense courage to hide her friends as long as possible.

Ewa takes her daughter to their lake house to prepare for her 18th birthday party. Unbeknownst to her mother, Julka brings along her boyfriend. The mother openly disapproves his presence and wants to get rid of him. However, the more she tries, the more obvious it becomes that the hardest battle she will have to fight is the battle with herself.

Fed up with forced cheer, twelve-dish feasts and predictable gifts, one person rejects the usual Christmas ritual and flees to the unknown, finally doing what they truly desire instead of what they must. This holiday, nothing will be the same: the world turns upside down and even the wildest dreams may come true.

Directors Katarzyna Iskra and Justyna Pelc encourage several characters to surrender themselves to the hands of a therapist offering non-erotic touch sessions. The soothing effect of this unusual procedure also affects us, reminding us that cinema has the potential to be not only a space for reflection but also relaxation.

The movie is an attractive comedy of mistakes with large dose of humor and action. At the same time it is a sentimental story about group of friends who grew up in the same town in the 90s, taking their first steps into adulthood together. The story is about boys form Sopot who 20 years ago were a best friends for life. They had a band, they graduated from Hight school together. As a result of a various circumstances the group of friends fell apart and each of the boys went their own way. We meet the characters when they are 40 years old. They live in different cities, have different professions and lives. Theirs everyday life is interrupted by an unexpected visitor - a women who turns out to be the fiancée of the member of the former group. She invites them to a bachelor party - a surprise for her future husband. Despite their doubts the men come to their hometown to learn that old friend is dead.

Daniel is respected by his village community as long as he bravely supports the fight for their affairs. He is in love with the boy next door, Olek, who is not ready to reveal his sexual identity. Their relationship develops in secret. When a teenage friend can no longer take homophobic attacks and commits a suicide, Daniel tries to convince the villagers to organise a service of the Stations of the Cross together for the intention of the victim.
