Witse is a Dutch language crime drama produced by Belgian broadcaster VRT and broadcast on their één channel. It is also shown on BVN. First broadcast in 2004, as of 2010 the programme comprises eight series with a ninth and final series planned for 2012. It stars Hubert Damen as the eponymous Witse, a driven inspector in the Belgian federal police based in Halle. It is one of the most popular Flemish television programmes with some 1.6 million viewers. There are also Witse books. The first three were based on the last two episodes of each season, but since 2010 every six months a brand new story is published, written and invented by established Belgian writers, as Bob Van Laerhoven and Bart Van Lierde. The music for Witse is composed by Steve Willaert.

Vermist is a Dutch language crime drama produced by Belgian broadcaster VT4 and Netherlands production company Eyeworks. It is broadcast on VT4 and a French language version—Urgence disparitions—is shown by W9. Based on the characters and background of the successful Flemish film Vermist, the first episode was broadcast on March 25, 2008. A second season was broadcast in 2010.

Director Alexandre Powelz maximises this interpretation to its fullest potential. OHNE DICH is a film both about love and its bitter ingredients, and the equally sobering, yet comforting certainty that life goes on.

In 1929, Dziga Vertov shot the revolutionary film “Donbass Symphony”. Churches are destroyed amid applause, crosses and domes toppled, icons burned. Flags are hoisted. High-voltage pylons instead of crosses, coal mines, steelworks, dynamically assembled. The new faith is directed at the visible and is ingeniously and passionately established with all the means of the new art of film. It is the first Soviet sound film, a masterpiece and a classic. But the Donbass, the much-sung Soviet myth, is a British creation, namely that of the Welshman John Hughes, who arrived in 1870 with over 100 British engineers and a concession from the Tsar, developed the coal deposits and built up the steel industry in the Donetsk Basin.
