Biography
Catalina "Yupi" Covarrubias Cáceres (November 27th, La Serena, Chile) is a filmmaker and Film student at Universidad Mayor (Santiago, Chile). Her approach to the arts began in her teenage years through theater, a discipline in which she founded the school theater club and theater company La Pandilla, where she worked as a screenwriter, director, and actress. That experience shaped her artistic formation and strengthened her interest in creating fictional worlds. Since 2022, she has developed both fiction and documentary projects, working in directing, screenwriting, and production. Her work in production design and art direction has included short and feature films, exploring the visual materialization of narrative universes as a central focus of her cinema.
