Sixty years ago, the late, great Neoclassical Penn Station was razed and replaced with the crowded, subterraneous version of the transit hub New Yorkers now know. Today, an all-too-similar demolition debate has resurfaced over the train station. But while just about every New Yorker can agree they hate Penn Station, no one can agree on how to fix it.

A pedestrian sets off on a nine-day walk from Brooklyn to Montauk. As he makes his way, a chorus of Long island characters question his motives: is it a practice or a calling? Is he getting lost or finding himself?

As Peyton and Lyla shift between performance and reality, ideas of self-presentation as empowerment, female confidence, and self-branding come to the fore.
