Artie is a young Italian chef who runs a bistro that used to be owned by her father. When the dead body of an ex-mafioso appears in the restaurant, Artie must re-evaluate her relationship with both L'Atessa and the people in it.

In an alternate universe of 1967, Lucy is trapped in a cult-like Pool Club under societal circumstances. During an attempt to change her own personal universe, Lucy, unintentionally changes the world for women as we know it. A night of unfortunate events lead her to a gathering of minorities (each representing a true civil rights activists of 1960), who rebel against the American dream. We learn the next morning that most of the action against this society were reset by a powerful individual who represents their government, Dr. George Star.

A young woman discovers second-wave feminism, while meeting with her estranged half-sister, as they encounter the grief, rage, jealousy and injustice that govern their lives. The academic and political discussion of women's liberation and feminism (as part of the sexual revolution of the 1970s) draws inspiration from 'The Scum Manifesto' by Valerie Solanas and juxtaposes these passage with country music from the same era; notably 'The Pill' by Loretta Lynn, 'Just Because I'm A Woman' by Dolly Parton and, most centrally, 'Stand By Your Man' by Tammy Wynette.

This ensemble drama explores a number of interweaving relationships, all grappling with polyamory and sexual expression, amid the personal and societal expectations faced by each character.
