The short film surrounds Cassie and her struggle, confusion, and eventual discovery of her OCD. We take a glimpse into her interactions with her friends and family, often paired with flashbacks (intrusive thoughts) of supposed violence towards herself and others. Unknowing of her condition, she is distraught at each thought, and as a result reluctant to share with her loved ones what she is going through.
A woman in grief. A stalker in pursuit. A prophecy fulfilled.
Monica is a Chinese immigrant living in the UK with her boyfriend. After having lunch date with her British colleague, Bonnie, she begins to dream about something more than her monotonous life.
VIDEO PAL takes place in a shattered reality where all media is incomplete - films without faces, voices lost in distortion. Wholeness lies in seeking the 'Video Demon', a mythical, metaphysical being that completes all media...but demands total submission. When the demon is instead killed, what becomes of an already fractured reality?
