It’s 1901, and at Stilhoek the British are planning to cut off a Boer garrison based in the Free State. An officer ordered to find sympathetic local farmers befriends quiet-spoken Sarel Gereke.

Planning their 25th wedding anniversary, the Van der Merwes realise that their marriage certificate is lost.
