Roger (8) and Jonatan (12) spend a sunny afternoon flying kites, immersed in the innocence of childhood. Their simple joy is suddenly disrupted by the outbreak of violence in their community, confronting them with a harsh and unsettling reality.
Lis, a 21-year-old woman, wanders through the streets of Rio de Janeiro carrying the absence of someone who is no longer there. Between memories, unexpected encounters, and events that blur the line between reality and imagination, she moves through the city searching for a way to cope with what remains.
Antuérpia is a 70 year-old woman who lives in the neighborhood of Penha, in Rio de Janeiro's north zone, with her husband Inácio. For decades, she carries a secret within her. Now, however, she must go through a high-risk surgery. The fear of death and of the truth being revealed are manifested through memories of her adolescence, in the city of Nova Iguaçu, Baixada Fluminense. Seeking for Cesario, her first boyfriend, she returns to a place unseen to her eyes for many decades, from which her only vivid memories are the scent of the orange trees.
The alien, Disco, lands in a city on another planet. Upon exiting her ship, she encounters new sounds and ways of life, which ultimately lead to the reconstruction of her identity and new ways of identifying. Everything changes when Magnolia and Hermes cross her path, introducing two fundamental elements to her transformation.
