Biography

Finn Björnulfson, born 28 December 1972 in Gothenburg, Sweden, is a Swedish musician and percussionist, best known as a longtime member of Håkan Hellström’s band since 2001. A specialist in Brazilian percussion and samba rhythms, Finn has played with numerous artists across genres—ranging from José González and Timbuktu to Fibes! Oh Fibes! and Miriam Aïda—and has performed with samba schools in Rio de Janeiro. Since 2017 he has also performed with the band Bongo Riot alongside Lars-Erik “Labbe” Grimelund. Beyond performing, Björnulfson is an experienced workshop leader and educator, sharing Brazilian percussion and body percussion techniques in Sweden and abroad. He is regarded as one of Sweden’s foremost practitioners of Brazilian percussion, contributing significantly to the fusion of world music and pop in contemporary Swedish music
