Brazil, 1961. In the underground of the Piratini Palace, the governor of Rio Grande do Sul, Leonel Brizola, awaits a bombing by the Brazilian armed forces. The country is on the verge of a civil war, following the resignation of president Jânio Quadros and the movement to keep vice-president João Goulart from taking office. Using the radio transmitter from his improvised bunker, Brizola sets up the Legality movement, to ensure Goulart's right to the presidential chair. Caught in the crossfire, two brothers who are in love with the same woman unite to fight alongside Brizola.

Raúl is an unemployed cattleman that lives in an isolated house on the fields. The landscape of pastures is being superimposed by huge soy plantations. Devastated by poverty, he joins a gang of other peasants that steals cattle during the darkness of the nights on the pastures.

Leo is a young ranch hand who has never left his small community, located in southern Brazil, until he is faced with the need to fulfill his father's last wish. He travels to Rio de Janeiro with his uncle Arthur who he isn't very close to. During the trip, Leo manages to see the immensity of the world and the infinite possibilities, turning his trip into a great journey of discovery and transformation.

Ignacio is locked in a hotel room. Stunned by a giant and frighteningly bizarre insect, he sees a way out when Arthur knocks on his door.

After a sinister eye surgery, a man ends up being tormented by disturbing visions. Bandaged and isolated at home, the darkness manifests and the man comes across with his own insanity, doing everything he can to face his fears.
