I am grateful to the Chinese for the invention of gunpowder — it feels as if they made it for me. Its discovery happened by accident, originally conceived as a way to ward off evil spirits. This film begins in China, then moves to an event in Cartagena, and ends centuries later in Bogotá.

Gloria is tired. Absorbed in thought, she slowly moves between the mirror, the sink and the bathroom light. Between pain and pleasure, what she carries inside is growing and cannot contain itself anymore.

A woman invents a story to evoke a lost friendship. Along with her friends, they imagine a fable: the story of two birds that one day became human — an Ornithologist and his friend, The Architect.

In the midst of a lamb's agony, two lovers play under a sheet. The sheet, which is both linen and a shroud, captures her death and immortalizes what it was.
