In the dark days following the 1840 Opium War, a local gentry member, He Yucheng, strives to defend Guangzhou after being entrusted by Guan Tianpei, a mission that intersects with local martial arts figures' initial attempts to resist the British by burning foreign ships.

The story tells the story of the heroine Shi Lixiang and the veteran Liu Deshun who fell in love at first sight and married for love. The poor and helpless child died in their arms due to illness. Her husband was determined to dig a mountain road, but died accidentally, and Shi Lixiang was in a desperate situation. In order to fulfill her husband's last wish, she declares war on Dashan.
