Tim Tszyu, the undefeated Australian star, returns to the Gold Coast to make the first defense of his Junior Middleweight title against Brian Mendoza, who is fresh off one of the KOs of the year. Tszyu, the son of boxing legend Kostya Tszyu, dominated former world champion Tony Harrison to win the interim title in March before knocking out Carlos Ocampo in one round in June. Mendoza scored one of the year’s biggest upsets and best KOs when he stopped Sebastian Fundora in April.
