Biography
Alexandra Pärn is studying film directing at the Baltic Film, Media and Arts School in Tallinn. She has also worked as a freelance assistant director with various projects in Estonia. The comical short film "Christmas Day" tells the story of a strong bond between Pia and her grandfather. The story takes place within the familiar Christmas hustle and bustle, complete with stressful gift wrapping, ear-piercing children's squeals, and a traditionally comical family Christmas dinner. Amidst all the chaos, Pia finds herself in a moment of a different reality, through which she manages to regain her Christmas joy and gets a reminder of how much we need our family's warmth and acceptance in good and bad times.
Christmas Day

The 30-year-old protagonist Slava wakes up in a strange place with missing memories from last night. He’s taken to a hospital where Slava learns that in this odd, even dystopian world he has awakened, all the men have gone extinct long ago, leaving him the only man left in the world. Experimental fever-dream-like voyage through the mind and emotional turmoil of a young man trying to make sense of life as well as accepting the end of his relationship.

A new, better and more confident version of herself, so that she could find a way out of her unsafe environment.

The short film talks about Aet, who finds herself in a position where she is left with unknown luggage. Her sense of duty and justice wont leave the luggage.

Ten year old Lily has to play multiple roles at once, facing the questions of the adult world. It is often the children who know how to live life without making it overly complicated and see that the key to happiness lies in simplicity – whether it's the first rays of sunshine, a hug from a loved one, or a snowball fight.

It's 1947 in Estonia. After the suicide of her friend, young student Marie starts to feel threatened by the Stalinist regime. She tries to find ways to escape across the sea, but it turns out to be more difficult than she expected.

The relationship between Kaspar and Marlen is far from floral. Kaspar's attempt to surprise Marlen with a flower one day is no help either, because there is no contribution from the girl. It becomes a melting pot where local traditions intertwine with the contemporary creative work of artists, creating opportunities to find a shared language and make something together.
