Biography
Mayara Teixeira is a Brazilian journalist and filmmaker. She has worked for Rede Globo, the largest media company in Latin America, for eight years, covering in-depth stories on topics often overlooked by the media, with focus on human rights violations. She graduated from Columbia University in the Documentary Specialization program in August 2023. She is also a 2023 Reporting Fellow at the Pulitzer Center.

They also didn’t expect to encounter a city overwhelmed by one of the largest humanitarian crises in its history.
