Biography
Chrystel has started working in image using photography and video through her own experience of contemporary dance and movement of the body. She captures the stage for theater and dance companies, makes portraits and works in cinematography. She’s been assistant of direction and production of documentaries and fictional films. She directed the documentary “Les Impatients de Levallois” in 2002, "Territoires de l'art, Lia Rodrigues de Vitry à Rio" about the work shared by the brasilian choregrapher and the Théâtre Jean-Vilar from Vitry-sur-Seine in 2010. In 2012 she directed the film "Quand je suis né, je savais danser", about tsigane dance with the dancer Emmanuelle Rigaud, and in 2014 the film "Profession : dancer" broadcast by the moroccan public channel Al Aoula, about contemporary dance in Morocco.

Every week for a year, Chrystel Jubien, like a ritual, films for a while, framed by rules, prisoners during their dance lessons. Time creates another relationship to place, to bodies, to women, and in this long time of repetition the encounter has been woven.

This documentary traces the "companionship" of Brazilian choreographer Lia Rodrigues, at the Jean-Vilar Theater in Vitry-sur-Seine from 2007 to 2010.
