What could the fairies be missing, anyone who sees those three lovely elderly ladies living happily in their castle in the middle of a beautiful garden would think. And yet something was missing. They longed for someone to cheer them up, to care for them. A little magic was all it took for Princess Janet to trade her family castle for a fairy garden. At first it seemed that she would not be so bad off here, but as soon as she made it known that she would not marry the obsolete king of the flower elves, a cruel punishment awaited her.

The future communist journalist Julius Fučík had a stimulating childhood and youth in a working-class environment, when his moral maturity was already showing. The authors of the film recall that the young Julek was a star of the suburban operetta scene, and in three episodes they depict him both in his early childhood and already at the gymnasium, when the outbreak of the World War shaped his determination.

Among the apprentices learning the confectionery trade is Honza Králíček, who is not enjoying it at all and would rather be working with cars. The fairy Cukřenka wants to help him and lends him a magic bag. Since then, Honza has been doing well and is also trying hard to study for his exams.
