Ësáasi Eweera, one of the last kings of the Bubi people of Equatorial Guinea and a threat to Spanish colonial rule, died in suspicious circumstances. A century later, the case is reopened: a formalist detective story and an indictment of colonialism.

A teacher from a private secondary school sends 6 students of both genders, aged between 14 and 19, to research the musical instruments that characterize each of their ethnic groups. But surprisingly, during this search, the students, representing the six ethnic groups of Equatorial Guinea, encounter a complex and rich cultural diversity that helps them uncover the anthropological origins of each ethnic group and learn about their similarities and unique features.
