Biography
Kai Sampadian is an Asian American filmmaker based in Los Angeles and the older brother of actor, Luke Sampadian. Born in Japan and raised in San Diego, Kai's upbringing as a military child allowed him to live in various cities across the United States, exposing him to a diverse array of cultures and communities. Kai currently works in development at Justin Baldoni's Wayfarer Studios, and has previously worked at FX Networks, Annapurna Pictures, and CAA. In 2022, Kai wrapped production on House Rules, a short he co-directed about young adulthood, sexuality, and overcoming generational and cultural differences. As a Japanese American filmmaker, Kai hopes to further push the envelope in telling fresh and compelling stories through the perspective of characters that look like him and his community.
