One day, taxi driver Koji Usami is tasked with driving 85-year-old Sumire Takano from Shibamata, Tokyo to a senior care facility in Hayama, Kanagawa. Sumire asks Koji to make some detours. Gradually opening up to her, Sumire begins to tell the story of her grand past...

An original medical murder mystery surrounds an unknown killer coccus (bacteria), that leaves no trace in the victim's body, which enables it to be used as the perfect weapon to kill. Fujimaki Tatsuomi is a pathologist working at the Pathlogy department at Meikyo Medical University Hospital. He's looked down upon by the other staff around him, and his relationship with Maho his wife, a former nurse, has cooled down. After a patient's suspicious death, he makes a new discovery; when the deadly bacteria "Gift" invades the body, the patient soon dies, but the "Gift" leaves no trace thereafter, enabling it to be used as the perfect weapon to kill. As a result of this discovery, Fujimaki's life dramatically changes. While searching for a way to treat his ailing wife's heart disease, he becomes embroiled in a conspiracy surrounding the killer bacteria "Gift."

Aiko Satō, who has won many literary awards, retired from her life as a writer and had no guests. She spent a gloomy time, but then a middle-aged editor named Tachibana came with a commission for a story. The story begins with a series of essays that are initially unpleasant, writing out her anger towards society. Aiko's life will undergo significant changes by the time she is 90 years old.

Kisaragi Maaya, 16 years old. The first love confession of her life ended in complete rejection. She vows to "never confess to someone again" in the presence of the stoic but popular Chigira-kun, while on library duty together one day.

High school senior Sato Misaki lives with her single mother and, not wanting to burden her family financially, decides to forgo higher education and find a job in her hometown. As she spends her final days of high school working part-time, her best friend Hashimoto Satsuki — aiming for university at her parents’ urging — is far more interested in posting on social media. One day, a mysterious ghostlike figure appears in a vlog Misaki films, and the video goes viral overnight. Seeing an opportunity, the two begin posting a series of fake paranormal videos, earning advertising revenue from their growing online fame. But as their ambition grows, they seek greater thrills and sneak into an abandoned building rumored to be haunted in their hometown — only to capture something real on camera that they can never take back. Worse yet, during the trip, Misaki prays to a roadside Jizo statue and becomes possessed by a “god” wearing traditional robes and a mask-like face.

When Aoi and Kiichi, high schoolers in Kurashiki city, come across their friend Beniko trying to calm down her autistic brother Kyosuke, Aoi tries to help and makes the promise to shoot fireworks from Mount Tsurugata in the Bikan Historical Quarter. Upon hearing this, Beniko gets upset herself because she doesn’t believe this promise will be kept but Aoi becomes determined to make it happen. As surrounding adults see these young people put their spirits into this task, they are moved and the fireworks take on a greater meaning.

Within the school swimming club, teenagers question their sexuality and gender identity.

Walking into school one morning, Mitsuko is shocked to see a humiliating painting of her! It was painted by her little sister Kyoko and since it won the art contest, the painting will be displayed for the entire year. Vowing to avenge this, Mitsuko decides to shame her sister in the same way. As she works on her painting, Mitsuko reminisces about her strained relationship with her sister.

Spring, a freshman in high school, in the middle of youth. Yukari has yet to find something she is passionate. Then she meets Mimi, a classmate who loves a wildflower. The two of them decide to join the Wildflower Research Club = "ZAKKEN" together.
