Ana is an actress who goes to Los Angeles to take part in a humiliating show. While she is there, she has her first date using a dating app where she meets the enigmatically unattractive Tyler, who will make her realize how lonely she is.

In a small high school, Benito, the lonely physics teacher, falls madly in love with Lola, the new substitute biology teacher. Benito asks Gonzalo, the grumpy old music teacher, to help him teach him a song to sing as a serenade at the end-of-year fair.

Through this role reversal, the camera documents Daniel’s daily life as a motel owner in a candid, effortless, yet humorous manner, gradually unveiling his larger-than-life personality and his somewhat tumultuous relationship with his wife, Lourdes.
