Biography
Angie got her start in TV as a teenager when she landed a production assistant job on Canadian hit series, The Beachcombers. After high school and college she continued to work in the industry in front and behind camera in a variety of roles. Since then she has written, directed and acted in a number of her own projects. Angie stepped down as Director of Industry Programming at the Whistler Film Festival after working on the on the Industry Programming team for 14 years. She left to pursue personal Film/TV projects. She is the recipient of the both the 2018 Women in Film & Television Vancouver's Spotlight Awards (CA) - Leadership in Education Award and the 2018 Whistler Excellence Awards (CA): Champion of Arts and Culture Award.

The Twisted Slipper
Angela (Sera-Lys McArthur) and Henry (Matthew Kevin Anderson), a young Ottawa couple with a baby on the way, embark on a short trip north to the Cree community of KiiWeeTin to visit Angela’s beloved childhood nanny, Mary (Renae Morriseau). When Angela is harassed by a menacing shadow figure, Mary moves to bless and protect Angela and her unborn child with illegal Cree ceremonies and medicine. And as Angela discovers the truth about both her ancestry and the spectral figure’s identity, she must delve into her newfound spiritual traditions in order to defend herself from her husband’s escalating purity-obsessed racism.

WaaPaKe is a story about resilience, love and transformation. Examined through an Indigenous lens, the stories of residential school Survivor-Warriors and their families offer an understanding of both intergenerational trauma and healing. We are taken to a studio set-up in front of a green screen. Through compassionate, candid conversations, Jules Koostatchin shares interviews with five individuals, family and friends, that all directly or indirectly experienced intergenerational trauma.

A young woman grapples with saying goodbye to her boyfriend forever. All that is left of their love is the snow angel he made for her the night before he left for good. With seasons changing rapidly, the young woman desperately tries to keep the snow angel intact. Her caring neighbours rally to help but Mother Nature always has other plans. The young woman struggles between the fight to hold onto memories, so they don't fade away forever and learning to adapt to the changing seasons.
