On Marriage focuses on portraying all those struggles that couples encounter when they give up themselves to fulfill their marriage. In this anthology series, each individual episode explores varying meanings of marriage from five unique perspectives.

Cherry identified herself as a drag queen. She just had a fight right before the show, finding out her boyfriend had been cheating sleeping with another girl for a long time. Later, she pulled herself together and walked on her way to work, she met with an abandoned baby. When she was performing sparkly on the stage with her close sister, Lena, they discovered something weird about this baby… The baby that intruded Cherry’s life at the night has given her a short fantasy of having an ordinary family with a child. Yet once again, it reminded her and Lena with a cruel reality of their actual life. This is a journey about a drag queen exploring herself with an abandoned baby at an unconventional night. It is also a story about the searching of one’s the sense of belonging and one’s own.

“Once clothed as an official, you represent law and justice.” This was taught to young detective Xian who worked under Detective “Silent Dog” Ao to catch mountain robbers. To everyone’s dismay, the robbers turned out to be detectives from neighbouring counties who were forced to rob the ruling county to save the poor. Through trickery and lies, Ao started a bloodbath to kill the robbers. Shaken to the core by Ao’s deceit, the originally naïve Xian abandoned his dreams to uphold righteous values. Not to be outdone, he ended up murdering the treacherous Ao for his own gains. With blades and blood, Xian was later hailed as a legendary detective.

The conflicts between two generations, between the urban and the rural are intensively examined. When a grandfather and his grandchild experience loss concurrently, they realize the older generation’s protection of the ancestral land and the youth’s defense of the city are cut from the same cloth. Decades have passed, but the people of Hong Kong still do not have an answer for their rootlessness.

Together, Ahua and Baoxin participated in the frontlines protest with liberal idealists. However, their desire to settle down for comfort and stable love led them to escape from the unstable political persecution. They got the opportunity to make a living in Taiwan through the help of Uncle Biao. As time passed by, they realized they had different visions for the future. Ahua has always wanted to move back to his homeland; while Baoxin preferred to start a new life in Taiwan. Baoxin understood that they wanted different things out of life and decided to break up.
