The storyline follows the romantic and humorous complications between two women from completely different worlds. Sweet Love follows the unexpected romance between Casey, a heartbroken city girl from Phnom Penh, and Keth (Vatta), an innocent countryside girl looking for a partner to marry. After a painful breakup, Casey flees to the rural province to heal, where an accidental meeting arranged by an aunt brings the two women together. Despite their completely different backgrounds, a deep bond quickly forms. However, emotional chaos ensues as Casey struggles to process her confusing feelings and old heartbreak, while Keth finds herself completely unable to stop loving her.

Sour and Sreyneang fell in love with the same man, but only later did they realize that he had betrayed them. They then felt sympathy for each other and subsequently fell in love.
