Young biologist Marta Medved comes to the small town of Veliki Dabar to investigate the murder of a large bear, whose body has been discovered before the mayor's holiday home. Her arrival will suddenly wake up the sleepy highland town and its collection of seemingly normal residents, each with secrets of their own, including Marta's ex-husband Mauro and his agressive brother Mišel. To get to the bottom of the mystery at hand, Marta has to join forces with inspector Bolf, a kind hearted, but clumsy law enforcement officer, but, unbeknownst to both of them, they'll stumble upon a grand conspiracy that, in one way or another, involves the entire town.
Branimir is an anxious young man who works as a theater ticket taker. When he witnesses an act he should not have seen, he nervously starts to grind his teeth. Suddenly and bloodily, something stirs in him and Branimir frantically tries to push it back.
