Hammer and compass in Mozambique. We see a GDR flag waved at a rally in Maputo, carried by "Madgermanes", contract workers who once toiled in eastern Germany. Some of them founded families there, like Eulidio. His daughter Sarah grows up with her mother in Berlin. The relationship with her "second home" is slow in growing, partly thanks to Luana, Sarah's baby, whose father, Eduardo is also from Mozambique.
The Homes We Carry

In 2020, Toni, Mia, Matze, Pauli, and Elena decide to isolate themselves in a holiday home - and spend a nice time together despite the restrictions imposed by the pandemic. But gradually the initial euphoria makes room for everyday boredom and unhealthy ways of dealing with isolation, which threaten to escalate. And the attempt to retain a certain feeling of freedom is repeatedly thwarted by existential fears.
Outside It's Burning
In Mozambique, mental illnesses are often explained as spiritual problems, which limits access to appropriate treatment and education. Yara finds her way out of depression despite the resistance of her social environment and discovers the strength to talk about her illness.
