The Prince of Porcelain, who only knows how to play with vain ladies in a cool porcelain world, wants to own the poor potters' myrtle tree. It was given to them instead of a child. The prince is sick with longing. The potter couple bring him the myrtle tree. He falls in love with it and one night discovers that a beautiful girl lives in it.

The nine sisters of light want to make the world a more beautiful and cheerful place and sing their song as they work. This enrages the Son of Darkness. He darkens the sun so that eternal night may reign, but the sisters want to free the sun.

Riding outside, the princess and the court juggler Honorio discover a fire in the marketplace. Honorio kills a tiger that has escaped from the jugglers, a lion is tamed by a boy's wonderful flute playing and returned to the jugglers, whose livelihood it provides.

For his mockery a witch transforms the pert boy Jacob into an ugly dwarf, but teaches him at the same time how to cook. Jacob quickly becomes a master of his trade and is named the prince's first cook. Only the mysterious herb "sneeze-with-passion" is unknown to him. Based on a fairy tale by Wilhelm Hauff.

A farmer owns a pear tree, three daughters and a chicken. Every year he has to deliver three baskets of pears to the king. Once, when he is unable to fill the third one, he puts his youngest daughter in it. The prince discovers her and immediately falls in love. The king is against the union and sets her the difficult task of fetching the treasure chest from the Tower of Winds. With the prince's help, the pear girl overcomes all difficulties and brings the treasure chest to the castle. Nevertheless, she is not supposed to get the prince and has to outwit the king with a clever idea.

A princess laments for her treasure. The knights Dick and Schick rush off to fetch it. A little bird joins them and they take it with them and defend it.

The girl Nephrite Blossom draws water from an enchanted spring for Otaro, who is exhausted to death. As a result, she falls under the control of the evil spirit Rotwange. Otaro does everything he can to win Nephrite Blossom back.
