Seven times seven Deaths come to earth to fulfill their mission - to take with them the souls of the people assigned to them. One of the novice Deaths is unable to complete the task, because he becomes more and more human after each person he meets.

Everything seems to be fine in the life of a young woman who works as a paramedic. She has chosen a profession that requires understanding and compassion, but she herself needs help in quieting the restlessness in her soul. As a doctor, she lacks an emotional bond when interacting with her patients, she feels alienated from her surroundings and her fellow people.

The lunar calendar of the Estonians at the time and related beliefs and customs. In the film, archival footage alternates with staged scenes depicting the work and activities of the peasantry. The wisdom and teachings of the ancient people are shared about which jobs could be done during the old moon and which during the new moon.
