A re-telling of Artemio Ricarte, a Filipino patriot who fought against the Spanish and later Americans. He was later supported by the Japanese during WWII. Nickname was "El Vibora" (the Viper).

A story about a kind man whose father was a kungfu master which his students murdered, so he seeks revenge even if he doesn't know kungfu.

In the era of American occupation in the Philippines, the story follows Teodoro Asedillo, a nationalistic school teacher who transforms into a revolutionary leader. Asedillo's unwavering belief in social justice and workers' rights leads him to challenge the oppressive system. Dismissed from his position as a police chief due to his principles, he forms the Anak Pawis movement, fighting for the rights of the oppressed.
