In three episodes, the documentary series Apis deals with his life and work. Who was this man the rulers were afraid of? What was his role in the May Coup and the change of dynasties? How did he become the third decision-making center in Serbia together with the crown and the government? Why did the Komitas become Apis' force? Is his handwriting recognized in the Sarajevo assassination as well? What was in the grip of the Black Hand? And why was Apis sent to the execution site by the one who owed him the crown?

Aired on N1 to mark the anniversary of the Serbian Prime Minister’s assassination in 2003, the film explores the fallout of the assassination and how Zoran Djindjic and his political legacy are remembered today.

By the end of 2003, few people knew what the Special Operations Unit of the Republic of Serbia did: the media was fawning over them, politicians respected them.

“Wednesday, March 24, 1999, 7:45 p.m. Bombs and cruise missiles are falling on the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia; the NATO Pact operation “Mercy Angel” has begun. There will be no mercy for the citizens of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia for 78 days.

The documentary gives an impression of the war in the Krajina, as well as the political and military details of its fall and the subsequent exodus of the Serbian population.
