The project '5 x slum, now by ourselves' gathered over 80 young people from Rio's favelas (slums), selected through workshops, script and filmmaking techniques to create a feature film consisting of five stories that reflect different facets of the daily lives of residents of these communities - with the promise of escape stereotypical representations.
5x Favela, Now by Ourselves

The film is set in Morro do Vidigal, one of the most famous favelas in Rio de Janeiro. Rita needs to give her son Léo a party that means a lot to her. But on the day of the party, she discovers that all the money for the event, which she had been saving for months, was stolen by Dudu. From this disappointment, Rita, who works at the beach, needs to race against time to make Léo's party possible and save Dudu's life. To do this, she will need the help of her friends.

O Porto do Rio ( The Port of Rio) is a 85' documentary movie directed by Pedro Évora and Luciana Bezerra that shows the transformation of the port area of Rio de Janeiro, in the context of the urban renewal works promoted by the City for the Olympic Games. The film narrates through interviews with residents and technicians the cultural aspect of samba in the region to tell the story of the main port of slaves in the Americas as discuss ways to develop the region, in the heart of Rio de Janeiro.
