The series follows the chairman of the ruling political party in Poland (Mr Chairman). The narrative takes place primarily in his office where, joined by his assistant Mariusz, he hosts numerous visitors, including government officials and other public office holders.

With only his wife by his side, a promising young boxer flees communist Poland to chase his dream of becoming the greatest fighter in history.

First in a series of anthology films dealing with Christians who put their lives on the line to help rescue Jews from the Holocaust. In the first of two short films, "Mamusha," as the Nazis invade her country, a Polish Catholic housekeeper takes under her wing the youngster in the Jewish family for whom she is employed, and shepherds him through WWII in hopes of ultimately getting him repatriated to Palestine. In "Woman on a Bicycle," an unmarried French woman is pressed into service by the church to distribute underground communication pamphlets for the Resistance and ultimately ends up helping the church shelter 19 Jews.

A timid accountant tries to earn his living as a rather unsuccessful hitman, until one stormy night he pulls a trigger for the first time and becomes a target for the vengeful mafia boss, murderous gangsters, trigger-happy cops and a gorgeous blonde from hell – and if he’s not careful his own wife might catch wind of his double life too.

A young director goes to Los Angeles to sign a contract for the production of his new film. However, before he reaches Hollywood, he takes a taxi on a crazy ride through American streets, cinema history and pop culture.
