Brava Gente was a television series aired by TV Globo in Brazil between 2000 and 2003, initially as a special year-end. The program was adapted from stories and national stories, and plays by famous playwrights, screenwriters and signed by a number represented by several actors and actresses. The genres of the stories varied each week with the style of each director or author. Brava Gente in the stories ranged from comedies and dramas. In all 53 episodes were shown, broadcast on Tuesday nights.

The series exhibited several stories based on folklore and mythology , with characters such as Cuca, Saci PererĂŞ and Iara from Brazilian folklore and then later with several characters from fairytales, fables, literature and greek mythology. The residents of SĂtio, EmĂlia, Narizinho, Pedrinho, Dona Benta and Tia Nastacia live several adventures with a lot of the mystery and dangers that haunt the remote town of Arraial do Tucanos.

Winner of the International Emmy Award for Best Telenovela, "Side by Side" focuses on two women of different origins and social classes. The brave Isabel, daughter of a former slave and in love with the capoeira player ZĂ© Maria; and Laura, descendant from a wealthy family and destined to an undesired marriage to Edgar. In addition to an unshakable friendship, the two share the same purpose in life: the conquest of freedom in the conservative society of Rio de Janeiro of the early 20th century.

The telenovela tells the love story of Diana and Alexandre in Rio de Janeiro in 2002, where gastronomy, music, and dance play a prominent role. Defined as a realistic romantic comedy, the plot revolves around Diana's struggle to recover the lands inherited by her family in Portugal, which are illegally occupied by Zenilda PaixĂŁo, Alexandre's mother. In love with Alexandre, Diana breaks off her engagement with Nelson. After some misunderstandings and missed encounters, she sees her beloved again, but a tragedy prevents a new meeting: the death of her father, the Portuguese Miguel Maria Coelho. Before dying, the owner of the Flor do Douro bar/restaurant asks his eldest daughter to take care of her mother, CecĂlia, and her sisters Laiza, Teca, and Madona.

Recorded at AuditĂłrio Ibirapuera in Sao Paulo , on 24 and 25 June 2006 , the album features the biggest hits singer-songwriter Lenine's career such as "PaciĂŞncia" (Patience), "Jack Soul Brasileiro" (Since I am Brazilian), "Na PressĂŁo" (On The Pressure), "A Rede" (The Net), "Hoje Eu Quero Sair SĂł" (I Want Go Out Alone, Today) and "A Medida da PaixĂŁo" (The Measure of Passion), plus new songs like "Tudo Por Acaso" (All By Chance). The album features special participations from musicians such as the Chilean Victor Astorga (the first English horn soloist with the Brazilian Symphony Orchestra), Cameroonian bassist and singer Richard Bona, Mexican singer Julieta Venegas, harpist Cristina Braga, the rapper Gog, and drummer Iggor Cavalera (ex-member of Sepultura). The DVD includes bonus material, plus making-of scenes, reviews, testimonials about the project, the guests and also footage of the 2006 World Cup, since the performance was recorded concurrently with it.
