Set in expansive fields and watery coves, Place/Portal is a dance film featuring award-winning transgender choreographer-dancer Sean Dorsey. Place/Portal asks: what happens when a trans body is allowed to dream about the Future? This short is part of a series of dance films created for Sean Dorsey Dance's multi-year project The Lost Atr of Dreaming which investigates and imagines expansive trans, gender-nonconforming, and queer Futures.

In Sean Dorsey’s work, The Lost Art of Dreaming, he encourages trans and nonbinary people to claim their right to a life they love, in contrast to the hateful cultural messaging and escalating attacks and U.S. policies against LGBTQ+ communities. Dreaming invites community members to imagine expansive futures that are joyful and liberated. Experience Dorsey and members of Sean Dorsey Dance perform excerpts from The Lost Art of Dreaming in some of San Francisco’s most inspiring settings—Twin Peaks, Hillpoint Park, and the Cliff House above Ocean Beach.

Trailblazing transgender choreographer Sean Dorsey and a stellar cast of dancers chase the naked truth in the dance film ‘Uncovered: The Diary Project’. Using text from actual, real-life diaries of transgender and queer people, ‘Uncovered’s’ powerful dances reveal lives and stories that history has tried to erase. Out spill diary secrets, devastating truths, bathhouse antics, outrageous love, pop idols, misadventures, great courage and the importance of documenting and sharing LGBT history.
